Hey all you great Fans,
So last night was interesting. Had a little band turmoil on stage as you probably all could tell. Being in a band is a lot like being in a relationship. Sometimes you just don’t get along. I guess there has been more turmoil lately I guess with the cancellations and all.
It has been frustrating I am not going to lie. My career and life in Rock n Roll has come with its ups and downs. Unfortunatly some people in this business don’t realize how great of a life they have. Touring the world, meeting great people and fans all over the world. And just playing music for a living. I feel truly blessed. But sometimes the road can be draining for some, being away from home and family does grind on you sometimes. With all the traveling and different beds. Personally I Love this Shit and sometimes can’t believe I am so lucky to still be doing what I do for a living.
Everybody could see who was unhappy lastnight but all I can say is Let’s keep the Rock alive people!!!! In this life u just pick up and keep moving. And don’t ever let anybody stand in your way. The TRUTH Rock On!!!!!!

Was at the gig last night, loved it!!! VR played amazingly, and it was nice being a bit closer to the front this time around. I must admit I am a bit confused about scott’s whole “Last VR Tour” Speech, but I’m sure all will be revealed in due course. The important thing is that you guys made a lot of people very happy last night, and I for one wish to thank you! Rock on!

Matt! I know it is easier to address when you are on the outside looking in, but, as a die hard fan, I hope you guys work through all the crap and keep rocking. You all are one hell of a Rock band, in a time when Rock seems almost extinct. It is refreshing to hear a voice and sound of “TRUTH” musically. Thank You for being a part of that. I hope Scott and VR work through everything and keep moving forward…. TOGETHER… You are all an inspiration to people. If you know it or not, you all have the ability to bring smiles and joy to peoples lives.. I thank you for that. Believe it or not, VR’s music has helped me through some tough times in my relationship. I don’t want this to get all sappy, but I want to “THANK YOU”, for VR’s musical (ROCK) contribution.
I just pray VR as a whole, can get through the issues, and continue to Rock, and I hope to buy (with my hard earned money) another (3rd) VR album, and see you guys perform in the Bay Area another 3 times (twice at the Warfield in SF, and once at the Shoreline in Concord, CA). In my mind, that is my money well spent.

I was at your show in Glasgow last night and it was brilliant, I had the best time!! and so did everyone around me. Managed to meet Duff outside the bus after the show too. So Scott is going back to STP for the summer but when STP broke up I was sad as they are a great band too. But it may not be forever and you and the rest of VR have the whole world at your feet so I dont see this as a negative. You guys rock to the max!! Enjoy the rest of your tour, and sorry Glasgow was so cold last night :))

Matt… Ihope that it was just a bad night, moods were obviosly in a raw state for some. I actualy think Scott should’ve stayed off the road a tad bit longer from his stint in rehab. I pray that as a band & as a group of friends, you guys can get back to a solid healthy place that will work for you on satge, but more importantly OFF stage. I know you love the rock & roll & we love to see you out there doing what you love in life. I hope if this really IS the “last tour” for VR that it’s meant to be just for now and not a permanent truth… You guys were suppose to do cd #3 & mabye even the Zeppelin tour (if that even happens)… so I let out a big sigh into the universe & I cross my fingers. Because I got to see VR 8 times & meet you all in Vegas in Sept. you guys are a great bunch of men who deserve to be happy. Thanks for all that you bring us. We really appreaciate it.

VR is an amazing Rock ‘n’ Roll band and are definitely what Sammy Hagar called “The best Rock ‘n’ Roll band left on the freaking planet!” i pray that VR will work things out. you all are an amazing band that is meant to be. but even if scott leaves, please continue on with the rest of VR. i really really hope that you guys don’t break up and scott stays in the band. i love you guys.

Hey Matt! You’re the man!! Thanks for keeping an upbeat attitude about last night and the band in general! I’m sure with all you guys can be around Scott and help him out! I know you guys are not just a band but a family as well and hopefully this will all blow over soon. I’m sure things get heated up from time to time on the road but as long as you can help each other keep sane then it’s all good. You’re an awesome drummer and an awesome person as well! It sure is a blessing to have what you have and to be able to perform and travel all over the world like that. Just keep it going and ROCK ON!! VR!!!

It’s thanks to you that us fans have hope that there are real musicians out there that can enjoy the “rockstar” life and know that they are truly blessed to be doing what they are doing. It shows when you talk, walk and most importantly: when you’re on stage and that’s why we love the music and keep coming back over and over again.
Personally, I couldn’t care less about the unhappiness of one unless it effects the entire group. I believe in second chances, but not 3rd, 4th, 5th or 20th chances. Whatever you decide to do I hope is only your best interest and nobody else’s.
There are a handfull of us that have travelled all over North America from coast to coast to see you guys. We’ve met you several times and everytime we see you, it gets better and makes us want more and I can assure you that if you keep doing what you do, that will never stop.
You have so much support from us and I know you know what to do with that… continue making music no matter where or with who.
An example of that, I’m coming from Canada to see you at the Roxy in May.

Hi Matt, Thanks for the update…..I was at the Glasgow gig and nearly died when Scott announced it was the last gig. Irrespective of what was going on, you guys were absolutely superb as always. It’s a shame that Scott is acting like this, but hey, if he would be happier with STP then maybe that’s for the best…..BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a new singer and keep going. I’m still overwhelmed that I have seen you guys in concert, at all in my life time…..I mean it’s Matt, Slash & Duff from Guns & Roses….I never thought that would ever happen!!! All your fans adore you. I’m just sorry that I didn’t get the meet and greet package……now I might never get the chance….PLEASE keep it going….you guys are absolute class and the Rock world would NEVER be the same without you.

Thanks for signing my CD at the meet & greet in Glasgow! You probably wont remember me but you said you stayed in a haunted hotel in Edinburgh haha. Anyway I was confused when Scott said it would be the last VR tour ever! Guess we will just have to wait & see what happens with the band. It was a great gig anyway and I couldn’t believe it when you started to play “Patience”! Fuckin’ amazing… it was so surreal to meet such talented and huge icons.

I was so shocked by Scott’s announcement at Glasgow! Really wasn’t expecting that. It really sucks! Thanks for keeping us all update as usual Matt. I think it’s really cool that you speak to your fans so much. I wish I had gotten the Meet and Greet package at Glasgow, but I didn’t … so I’m hoping to come see you guys on one of your next few shows where I will be seeing ya back stage 😉

How are you? I just wanted to say that I was completely shocked mby Scott’s announcement on Thursday. I was at the gig and I was gobsmacked when he said that it was VR’s last tour. I hope that you all work things out and carry on.
As a previous poster said, I cant believe I have seen three of the members of my all-time favourite band, four out of the five times you have played in Glasgow. I absolutley love you all!!! I wish I could have met you, but I found out about the meet n greet & Duff’s appearance in the music shop after the event!!!
If you cant work it out, then I think you should all get another lead singer and carry on regardless (I liked the comment about the flame haired singer).
On a personal note to you, I thought Scott’s statement was childish and vindictive. I didn’t think that there was any need for him to get as personal as he did!!

We were at the Glasgow gig and like so many others were shattered when that announcement was made, so we’re really pleased to be coming to see you all again in Amsterdam for the last night of the tour. Thanks also to everyone for a great M&G and taking the time to speak with us. (You may remember my t-shirt).

I also had an AMAZING view of the stage, which is a rarity for me at gigs because of health and safety rules(what with me being in a wheelchair) But it was MAJORLY AMAZING!!! Well done 😀
One thing, next time… throw one of your spare drumstick a bit harder! The people literally just in front of me got the 1 you threw on the balcony!!

Met you all at the Glasgow gig (I also was totally incapable of speaking, even when Slash commented on my t-shirt!)
You 4 were fab and so down to earth. We thought things were a bit ‘off’ judging by the time it took Scott to make his appearance on stage.
VR is not dependent on his talent alone, if he wants to go then I suppose thats up to him, plenty of other great frontmen out there.
Your blog certainly didn’t point any fingers but he’s clearly taken it very personally, he should perhaps re-read his retaliation and see if it makes sense!
Anyhoo, it was fantastic to meet you and hopefully it won’t be the last M&G we get to.

It would be a bum if VR split for good, there aren’t a lot of good rock bands around anymore (with the exception of VR, Rush, Nickelback, Foos and Leppard). If Scott does leave, get another singer on board. VR is more than just one person, its the collective group.

I went to the Glasgow gig on the 20th – first ever VR gig but I thought it was excellent, really kicked some ass!!!! Frankly it was one of the best nights of my life, to me there was no distance on stage and everyone performed well together! I hope to see you guys again but if not hey, I’m happy I got to see you at least once…still smiling. Whether you stay together or not what with Scott going back on the road with STP (which I’m majorly chuffed about!), it was great while it lasted but long may it continue. Thank you to all of VR for giving me such an amazing night that I will never forget! x

What transpired was embarrassing to both band and fans and I think the general mood afterwards is full support to the band and not the individual who came off the rails with a rant. I wish you guys could have worked something out. The former VR was a great band. Good luck with the future VR. None of the auditions I’ve seen yet have the right chemistry, so keep looking for a new 2nd best front man after Scott.
